I’m ready to work with whatever you bring in.
Perhaps you feel like your prior therapists and providers are not fully equipped to handle your struggles, as those are generally derived from very serious medical illnesses that sometimes bring life’s meaning into question.
I’ve helped many clients struggling with a range of concerns, including fear of death, uncertainty about oncology treatment options and side effects, worry about the financial impact and job security, and concerns about the impact on their relationships and self-esteem.
I am prepared to address these challenges and navigate through them with you.
We will use a multidisciplinary approach that’s right for YOU.
Our goal is to uncover the patterns of thought and behaviors that aren’t working out for you. We’ll explore and examine them, freeing up opportunities to release their control over you.
I’ll guide you through this using various techniques – everything from yoga, meditation, psychoanalysis, or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
We’ll also use “homework assignments” and discuss medication if that’s appropriate for you.
By doing the work intently and with discipline, you will notice after a few months that your problematic issues have either been solved, are well on their way to being solved, or your relationship to the problem has changed.
You will notice that your awareness has increased. You will see, notice, and feel things that might have been locked out of your experience before. You’ll start smiling at the simple things in life. Relationships will become more loving.
Ultimately, you’ll find purpose, peace, and appreciation in the present moment!
I know you might be anxious right now.
But it’ll dissipate quickly when you realize you can trust me.
You will notice that I deeply care about what is going on in your life and don’t shy away from your suffering, no matter how deep it may be.
I have been trained by the best in the field, and it will show as we talk. I am trained in various modes of therapy and know my way around medications. We’ll alleviate your suffering to the best of the capacity of current cutting-edge science and will use the bandwidth you gain from that ease to go deeper into your suffering to allow you to regain ownership of your well-being.
And we’ll never go beyond what you can handle at any given time. Sometimes, it’s not a good idea to dive deep and look at some of the trauma that has been in the background right away.
We must develop trust and the skills necessary to face and overcome your trauma.
During that time, we will build your resilience and grit until you feel ready to take the next step. You will be the one taking the lead on this journey.
It’s time to start enjoying your life again!
I’m here to walk with you… at your pace… making sure you’re seen and heard along the way.
Most of our sessions will be online (with some specific exceptions), so prepare a tea or coffee and find a cozy, private place where you can easily share.
To get started, all you have to do is reach out!

About Me
As for my personal story…
I was born and raised in Ecuador, where I was deeply affected by cancer.
A close friend of mine was diagnosed in high school, and some of my close family members have either suffered through or died from cancer. These experiences taught me about the finiteness of life.
They also shaped my career. I found myself working with people struggling with cancer and other chronic diseases. I discovered along the way that even though the suffering is real and deep, there is also an opportunity for massive transformation.
Some of my education and professional background…
I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psycho-oncologist and treat adults of all ages.
I earned my medical degree at the Catholic University of Guayaquil. I then completed my psychiatry and chief residency at Duke University Hospital, receiving numerous accolades and commendations from colleagues and clients.
Later, I completed a clinical and research fellowship in psychosomatic medicine and psycho-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
I have spent most of my adult life helping people who are struggling via medication management and psychotherapy. I have trained in leading institutions across the country. When I have felt that current cutting-edge treatment strategies in mainstream medicine have not been enough, I have also studied alternative interventions.
When I’m not working…
You’ll often find me playing outside, snowboarding, surfing, or hiking.
I also enjoy playing classical guitar and watching comedy shows with my friends.
The Logo…
…this concept symbolizes a spiritual gate or portal opening up.
It’s meant to draw the eyes in and create a feeling of moving toward its center (toward your inner discovery and the infinite).
As you travel through the wormhole, light expands – from the center to the edges of your vision, and this is also what the circular shapes in different colors are meant to capture.
